The Harbour

The Harbour Bespoke Curriculum

Our vision is founded on Matthew 5: 14-16

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

"Connect. Communicate. Shine."

At The Harbour, we believe that every child deserves a curriculum that celebrates their individuality, recognises their strengths and provides meaningful opportunities to learn, grow and shine.

Inspired by our whole-school vision, 'Be the Light,' The Harbour is a place of safety and hope—a harbour where children can anchor themselves, discover their strengths and prepare to navigate their own unique journey through learning and life.

Our bespoke Harbour Curriculum has been carefully designed to meet the needs of children with speech, language and communication difficulties, recognising that every child's learning journey is unique. Rooted in a nurturing, inclusive and communication-rich environment, our curriculum places relationships, emotional wellbeing and meaningful experiences at the heart of learning.

Communication is the golden thread woven throughout everything we do. Through sensory exploration, play, practical experiences and carefully structured learning opportunities, we support children to develop the skills they need to connect with others, express themselves, become increasingly independent and engage with the world around them.

Our curriculum is built around six key curriculum drivers:

Communication

Emotional Regulation

& Wellbeing

Play, Curiosity

& Thinking

Independence

Literacy & Numeracy

for Life

Community

& Relationships
